Etihad Airways and Germany’s leisure carrier Condor have signed an expanded partnership agreement dated 11 June that will see Condor add daily A330-neo flights from Bangkok to Abu Dhabi in October, following May’s Frankfurt launch and Berlin’s scheduled start on 15 June. Etihad will codeshare on all services and extend frequent-flyer reciprocity across Condor’s network. The collaboration strengthens Abu Dhabi’s connectivity to both Southeast Asia and secondary German cities, feeding Etihad’s long-haul bank while giving Condor access to Gulf and Indian Ocean markets. Analysts view the deal as a capital-light way for Etihad to grow presence in cost-sensitive leisure segments without deploying its own metal. For UAE-based corporates, the extra frequencies offer new one-stop options into Germany’s federal states and improve seat availability during autumn trade-fair season. Meanwhile, Thai SMEs can leverage the forthcoming Bangkok service for faster freight and passenger links to the Middle East and Europe. The codeshare underscores a broader trend of GCC carriers partnering with European leisure airlines to diversify feed beyond traditional flag-carrier alliances. Mobility managers should monitor fare dynamics as capacity increases and loyalty-programme integration deepens.
