Customs and Border Protection has opened a week-long Global Entry Enrollment Center at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) in South Carolina, the airport’s first such event since 2019. According to local station FOX Carolina, appointments run June 17–21 and sold out in less than four hours. The mobile center is part of CBP’s push to cut a nationwide interview backlog that topped 430,000 pending applications in May. Applicants who secure conditional approval can complete fingerprinting and photo capture on site rather than traveling to Charlotte or Atlanta. CBP officers expect to process up to 850 travelers during the pop-up. For companies in the Carolinas aerospace and advanced-manufacturing corridor, the event offers a rare chance to fast-track frequent-flyer executives before heavy summer travel. Mobility managers have been advising staff to monitor the CBP Twitter feed for last-minute slot releases—no-shows are re-assigned 24 hours in advance. CBP says it will evaluate demand to determine whether GSP merits a permanent Enrollment Center. If successful, similar pop-ups may rotate through secondary airports in Louisville, Nashville and Albuquerque later this year.
