Noida airport adds Bengaluru link as Akasa expands Day-2 schedule
Barely 24 hours after opening regular operations, Noida International Airport welcomed its second scheduled destination on 17 June when Akasa Air commenced a daily Bengaluru service alongside its Navi Mumbai flights. The south-India connection gives technology firms in Uttar Pradesh’s Yamuna Expressway corridor nonstop access to the country’s primary IT hub, reducing reliance on Delhi’s congested IGI airport. Akasa is offering two rotations per day—morning and late evening—allowing Bengaluru-based consultants to conduct single-day engagements at Noida’s data-centre parks. Airport CEO Christoph Schnellmann said the route lifts Jewar’s tally to 16 departures a day, supporting the goal of hitting two million passengers in the first full year. For corporate travel buyers, launch fares of ₹6,200 undercut Delhi–Bengaluru peak prices by nearly 25 percent, and the airport’s all-digital security lanes shaved average dwell time to 18 minutes during the first day’s operations. With IndiGo slated to start Hyderabad and Ahmedabad flights next month, mobility teams may soon be able to routinise south-north project rotations through Jewar, avoiding Delhi’s slot constraints and higher user charges.
