The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) refreshed its India travel advisory on 1 July (still current 2 July) highlighting two changes relevant to mobility planners. First, it continues to advise against all travel within 10 km of the India-Pakistan border, specifying that the Wagah–Attari crossing remains closed. The timing aligns with India’s forthcoming IAF exercise and temporary airspace reservation along the same frontier. Second, the “Entry Requirements” section now includes guidance for passengers arriving from Ebola-affected regions, who must present surveillance clearance on arrival in India. Although the measure targets a small cohort, it illustrates India’s willingness to impose country-specific health checks with limited notice. UK companies sending staff to Indian border projects must review insurance exclusions that reference FCDO advice; travelling against advice can void cover. They should also factor potential diversions or airspace closures into July itineraries.
