CyprusVisa.eu, a widely used reference portal for outbound travellers, published its annual update on 5 July 2026 of countries that grant visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to holders of a Cypriot passport. The list now stands at 135 jurisdictions, reflecting 12 months of incremental policy changes. Notable additions include Barbados, Belize and Malawi, which each signed bilateral visa-waiver agreements with Nicosia earlier this year. The update also removes Venezuela and Niger, both of which reinstated entry-visa requirements citing security reviews. For Cypriot businesses with regional sales teams, the expanded access in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa lowers travel-planning costs and reduces lead-times for client visits. Mobility managers are advised, however, to verify COVID-19 vaccination or yellow-fever certificate requirements, which remain separate from entry visas. The Foreign Ministry is expected to finalise an electronic passport-validation system by Q1 2027 that will enable Cypriot travellers to pre-clear eligibility via a mobile app—an interim step ahead of Cyprus’ eventual entry into the EU Schengen zone. Companies should update internal booking tools and traveller-tracking software to reflect the new visa-status matrix and to avoid unnecessary consular filings.
