Air France-KLM Flying Blue launches fresh August promo rewards – up to 25 % fewer miles on key business routes
Flying Blue, the joint loyalty programme of Air France and KLM, quietly published its latest “Promo Rewards” list in the early hours of 4 August 2026. The monthly flash sale cuts the number of miles required for award tickets by 20–25 % on a selection of routes booked by 31 August for travel through 31 January 2027. For corporate mobility planners the headline deals are Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle to New York (JFK) and Paris to Singapore in Premium Economy, both down to 42 375 miles one-way – the lowest promo level this year. Intra-European commuters also benefit, with Paris–Milan and Paris–Berlin business-class awards reduced to 11 250 miles. Taxes and surcharges remain unchanged and must be paid in cash at ticketing. Flying Blue says the offer is designed to “stimulate shoulder-season demand” after a softer than expected July for transatlantic corporates. According to MIDT data, paid premium-cabin bookings from France to North America fell 3.2 % year-on-year last month, partly because several French multinationals implemented tighter travel budgets amid economic uncertainty. By discounting mileage redemptions, Air France hopes to fill empty seats without further fare erosion while giving companies a low-cost upgrade path for key travellers who have accumulated large points balances during the post-pandemic rebound. Travel managers should note that Promo Reward seats are capacity-controlled and, once issued, non-refundable. Flying Blue Platinum and Ultimate members may, however, change travel dates for €50 plus any mileage difference. Employers using Air France’s BlueBiz SME programme can combine the discounted awards with BlueBiz credits to offset taxes, provided the ticket is booked via an approved Travel Management Company (TMC). The August promotion also dovetails with Air France’s push to migrate more customers to its biometric boarding trial at Paris-CDG Terminal 2E. Passengers who register their faceprint in the airline’s ‘Smile & Board’ app during the booking flow receive a one-time 500-mile bonus – a small but telling nudge toward frictionless, document-free departures that could become standard when the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) goes live next spring.
