Travel Expo Cyprus 2026 kicks off in Nicosia, promising a one-stop shop for post-crisis holiday planning

The 27th edition of Travel Expo Cyprus opened its doors in Nicosia on 11 April, bringing together more than 150 exhibitors—ranging from airlines and tour operators to national tourism boards and hotel chains—just days before the Easter break. According to industry portal Travel and Tour World, the fair will run 17–19 April at the Cyprus State Fair grounds, staying open until 21:00 to capture after-work visitors. The deputy ministry of tourism expects over 10 000 trade and public attendees, a figure that would match the pre-pandemic 2019 record and underline Cyprus’s recovery as an outbound as well as inbound market. Exhibitors from Greece, Israel, the UAE and Georgia are showcasing visa-free short-break options aimed at Cypriot residents who now account for one in three passengers at Larnaca and Paphos airports. For corporate-travel managers, the expo offers direct meetings with destination management companies and visa-processing agencies—useful at a time when Middle-East unrest has complicated flight paths and insurance requirements. Several airlines, including Emirates and Wizz Air, are using the forum to unveil summer capacity boosts, while Lufthansa will run a seminar on Schengen biometric facilitation. The show floor also features a “Remote Work Island” pavilion highlighting Cyprus’s Digital Nomad Visa, coworking hubs and relocation services. Organisers say interest from IT freelancers has doubled compared with last year, partly driven by new fibre-optic links and the €40 million ARIADNE submarine-cable project. HR teams sending staff to scout the event should note heavy traffic around the State Fair grounds during opening hours; the transport ministry has arranged park-and-ride shuttles from the GSP Stadium to ease congestion.
