Metro systems in Fuzhou and Ningde ran at reduced speed, while airlines pre-positioned aircraft in inland airports to avoid typhoon damage. The comprehensive shutdown highlights the interconnected nature of China’s mobility infrastructure. HR teams with weekend incentive trips or site visits should verify not only flight status but also onward train tickets and park admissions. Insurance providers reminded employers that Chinese policies often exclude “named storm” disruptions unless riders are added. The National Immigration Administration said it would monitor impacts on visa-free passengers transiting through Xiamen and Fuzhou, which serve many Southeast Asian low-cost carriers.
