The tool, updated every 15 minutes and launched on 18 July, shows an average immigration wait of 22 minutes for non-EU travellers and flags peak congestion windows. The move comes three months before EES becomes mandatory EU-wide. By publishing data, Aeroporti di Roma hopes to spread passenger arrivals more evenly and reduce missed connections, a chronic issue for corporate travellers transiting to southern Italy and the Balkans. The dashboard also links to educational content explaining the EES kiosk process and the upcoming ETIAS authorisation. Corporate mobility teams can now integrate the API feed into travel-management platforms, allowing automated itinerary adjustments when predicted queues exceed policy thresholds. Several global life-sciences companies with regional HQs in Rome told Global Mobility News they plan to push notifications to staff 24 hours before arrival. The data further reveal that summer peaks raise total curb-to-gate time by up to 50 percent, a figure useful for assignment letters that stipulate minimum rest before first business meetings. FCO’s transparency is likely to pressure Milan Malpensa and Venice Marco Polo to offer similar tools before the Jubilee year surge in 2027.
