The story also notes plans for a dedicated lane for electric vans participating in the Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles scheme, indicating deeper integration of passenger- and cargo-mobility initiatives. Cyber-security trials begin in September, with NEC and SenseTime supplying the biometric engines. Global firms with split-site R&D teams stand to gain: shorter and more predictable crossing times support same-day prototyping runs between Hong Kong design offices and Shenzhen contract manufacturers. HR should, however, update cross-border insurance because passengers will remain subject to mainland traffic regulations once the joint zone is entered.
